Below is just a small sampling of how you could fill your da on the Island, and it only scratches the surface of everything that is available. 6 AM | Enjoy the Sunrise
At this hour, head out to the Pier Village on Saint Simons so you can catch one of the most gorgeous sunrises ever displayed over the Atlantic Ocean. Relax on one of the benches by the water in the Neptune Park area which stretches from the Pier to the Lighthouse.
7:30 AM | Breakfast at Palmer's Café
Up the Village sidewalk, visit Palmer's Village Café for breakfast. This quaint little diner serves up amazing breakfast food created by a classically trained chef. Travel & Leisurely Magazine once named Palmer's pancakes as the 4th best in the whole county.
10 AM | Visit the Lighthouse
After a delicious breakfast, stroll down to the pier and follow the sidewalk to the Lighthouse. Visit the Gift Shop to buy a ticket to climb the Lighthouse stairs to the top. The views are magnificent!
11:30 AM | Catch the Island Trolley
to catch the Island Trolley. For $20, it will take on an hour journey around the island, hitting points of interest and historical sights. It includes a stop and walking tour of Christ Church and its historic ground.
12:30 PM | Brogen's at the Pier
After a great deal of walking, you will be ready for an island lunch. You won't have to walk far to get to Brogen's at the Pier. On this pleasant afternoon, take advantage of Brogen's comfortable outside seating, while taking in a relaxing view of the ocean. Brogen's is famous for having one of the best burgers on the island, along with other equally good traditional American food, plus they have a delicious Bloody Mary.
2 PM | East Beach on Saint Simons
It's time for the beach! After lunch, head to your vacation home and change into your beach wear. Take a drive to East Beach and dig your toes in the sand. Spend a couple of hours swimming in the ocean or unfold your chair to relax while soaking in some sun.
4 PM | Get Ready for the Evening
Most of us could stay on the beach all afternoon. At some point, it's time to return to your vacation home and change for dinner.
5:30 PM | Dinner at the Half Shell at the Pier
For a casual family dinner with great service and even better cuisine, head back to the Pier to The Half Shell. A tucked away local gem, the Half Shell servers a variety of options from steak to seafood. Make sure to get the Butter Cake dessert before you leave!
7:30 PM | Sunset Cruise
To top off your day of great food, fun, and frivolity, drive over to Jekyll Island, and go down to The Wharf to catch a Dolphin Sunset Cruise. You may need to reserve a spot in advance because these cruises fill up fast. he smooth boat ride and the breath-taking sunset are the perfect combination for total peace and serenity. Rest assured, when you get back home, you will sleep like a baby!
